University Advancement
Jill Still   Jill Still, CFRE, Vice President for University Advancement

Jill Still is a Nacogdoches native who earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Texas A&M University and a master's degree in business administration from SFA. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive. Still has played various leadership roles in the Development Office for over 18 years and has recently been named Vice President for University Advancement. She also serves as the Executive Director for the SFASU Foundation.

Becky Smith   Becky Smith, Executive Assistant to the
Vice President for University Advancement

Becky Smith is a native of Arkansas who received an associate degree in business administration from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. Smith has background experience in banking, the legal field and higher education. She assists the vice president and works closely with the SFASU Foundation and Real Estate Foundation.

Trey Turner   Trey Turner, Ph.D. 98 & 02, Executive Director of Development

As the executive director of development, Dr. Trey Turner directs and manages the internal and external functions of Stephen F. Austin State University's Office of Development and is responsible for fundraising and development activities at SFA. Turner is a two-time SFA graduate, receiving his bachelor's degree in marketing and political science in 1998 and his master's degree in public administration in 2002. Turner also received a graduate certificate in nonprofit management with an emphasis in leadership and philanthropy from the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. He earned his doctoral degree in 2015 in education administration from Texas A&M University.

Before his employment at SFA as a major gifts officer in 2008, Turner spent 10 years working in sales and marketing in the pharmaceutical and forest products industries.

  April Smith 02Associate Director of Development

April Smith received her bachelor's degree in public administration from SFA in 2002. She has worked with SFA's Office of Development for more than 16 years, including serving as a Phonejack student caller, telephone outreach program supervisor, assistant director for annual campaigns, assistant director of development, and she now serves as the associate director of development. Smith oversees the annual fund and advancement services operations as well as assisting with endowments, donor stewardship, gift reporting, events, the Smith-Hutson Scholarships and additional special projects.

  Scott Allen '00, Development Officer

Scott Allen is a native of East Texas. He received a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology and a minor in English from SFA in 2000. Before joining our development office he spent 15 years in college ministry at SFA, including serving the past eight years as chaplain for the SFA baseball team.


  Greg Caldwell '12, Development Officer  

A native of West Texas, Greg Caldwell earned a Bachelor of Science in agricultural business and economics from West Texas A&M University in 1996 and a Master of Business Administration from SFA in 2012.  Prior to coming to work for SFA, he spent 18 years in sales and sales management in the steel building construction industry with Mueller Inc.

Lana Comeaux   Lana Comeaux ’03 & 09, Development Officer

Lana Comeaux is originally from Orange, Texas, and moved to Pineland, Texas, in 2001. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in industrial engineering from Lamar University in 1995. Later, she earned her Texas Teaching Certification. She received her Master of Educational Leadership in 2003 and Doctorate of Educational Leadership in 2009 from SFA. She has worked as a teacher, principal and superintendent. She also served as the executive director of the Sabine Area Career Center in conjunction with Angelina College. 

Ginger Dorman   Ginger Dorman '02, Accountant I

Ginger joined the development staff in summer 2015 and is responsible for stewardship, gift processing, and matching gift efforts for the university and the SFASU Foundation.   She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from SFA in 2002.

Crystal McCarthy   Crystal Bays 01, Development Assistant

Crystal joined the development staff in fall 2014 and is responsible for assisting in coordinating special events and providing administrative support to the development team. A Nacogdoches native, she earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from SFA in 2001.

  Bailey Miller, Annual Fund Coordinator

Bailey is responsible for the Annual Fund Program, which includes the Telephone Outreach Program; the SFA Phonejacks; direct mail; events and crowd-funding opportunities that engage alumni to support their SFA area(s) of interest. She is a 2013 graduate of Texas A&M University with a a bachelor's degree in english.

Sarah Sargent   Sarah Sargent '11, Gift Coordinator

Sarah joined the development staff in January 2017 and is responsible for coordinating stewardship, matching gift efforts and processing gifts received for the university and SFASU Foundation. She is a 2011 graduate of SFA with a bachelor's degree in hospitality administration.
