"Being the first to attend college drives me to succeed in my studies to prove to my family and myself that with hard work anything can be achieved."

"Funding from the friends of our department has helped launch two new research frontiers for our program. The first was the establishment of radio astronomy research plus the acquisition of image processing software. (Two masters theses have resulted from the radio astronomy research.) The second was the creation of a new research field in environmental sensing and quantum optics engaging both undergraduate and graduate students in various research projects."
